Countdown to the 74th Vienna
Medical Doctors' Ball and a charity night for the CliniClowns
In
just under three weeks, on 31 January 2026, the Vienna Hofburg will once again be transformed into a glittering arena full
of joie de vivre. The 74th Vienna Medical Doctors' Ball has the motto ‘A dance for life – a charity night for the CliniClowns’
and combines festive elegance with a strong message of humanity, togetherness and solidarity.
At 9.30 p.m., an extraordinary opening ceremony awaits you in the ballroom. The enchanting performance will transport the
audience into the touching world of the CliniClowns, bringing circus magic, humour and emotions to life. The choreography
is by YoucanDance and promises an atmospheric start to the evening. Our tip: if you want to avoid the crowds in the ballroom,
you can also watch the opening live on big screens in the Metternichsaal.
More music than ever before and,
right in the middle of it all, a ‘circus of joie de vivre’
Another highlight awaits ball guests at midnight
in the ballroom. Under the title ‘Circus of Joie de Vivre’, music, acrobatics and circus arts merge into a thrilling show.
Renowned singer Monika Ballwein, award-winning artist Maria Gschwandtner and Alexander Schneller, circus director with heart
and humour from the traditional Circus Pikard, invite you to an emotional experience that celebrates the joy of life. Those
who want to experience the fantastic Monika Ballwein once again will have the opportunity to do so at 12:45 a.m. in the Metternichsaal
at the After-Midnight Show.
Musically, the Vienna Medical Doctors' Ball 2026 is more diverse than ever. From 10
p.m., there will be dancing throughout the Hofburg: classical ball music in the ballroom meets swing, soul, jazz, disco, party
sounds and modern club beats in the numerous halls and salons. Whether elegant dance music, rousing live bands, walking acts
or DJ sounds, the Hofburg will be a resounding stage for every taste.
CliniClowns musical with heart
The CliniClowns also show their musical side away from the big show moments. In the Gartensaal (Heuriger), the Cliniclown
Salon Orchestra surprises with a ‘limited line-up’ and lots of charm from 10 p.m. onwards.
It's also worth keeping your
eyes and ears open: Dr Ernst Ernst will be making his rounds in the Radetzky and Maria Theresa apartments, delighting guests
with individual serenades! Perhaps he'll even join you for a spontaneous detour to the karaoke bar.
Premieres
in the Geheime Ratsstube
The Geheime Ratsstube is also presenting itself as particularly versatile for the
first time, becoming a place of musical discovery. Stefan Gössinger delights audiences here as ‘Bernd die Band’ with a musical
journey that is as funny as it is touching, spontaneous, unpredictable and guaranteed to be unforgettable. The programme is
complemented by SchneiDern, who enchant with jazzy treats ranging from swing to Viennese songs and Brazilian sounds. In between,
concert pianist Katharina Kovacevic adds special accents with classical music.
Listen carefully, there is so much
to discover! We look forward to an unforgettable ball evening where we will dance, marvel and make a strong statement for
a good cause.
The Vienna Medical Association and the Ball Committee look forward to seeing you there!
