59,745 euros to MOMO Children's Hospice
71st Vienna Medical Doctors’ Ball: Great success and significant
contribution to important institution
After a two-year pandemic break, the 2023 Vienna Medical Doctors’ Ball was
finally able to take place again as usual on the last Saturday in January at the Vienna Hofburg. Despite the wave of inflation
and the general price increases, a proud sum of 59,745 euros was raised that evening.
Thanks to the charitable orientation
of the ball, according to which all proceeds go to charitable institutions, a total of 59,745 euros was handed over to MOMO
Children's Hospice and Children's Palliative Team - also with the help of the sponsors and a charity art auction.
MOMO Children's Hospice and Children's Palliative Team provides medical, nursing and psychosocial
support to seriously ill children, adolescents and young adults and their families at home. In Vienna, there are about 800
children and adolescents suffering from a life-threatening or life-shortening illness. Against this background, Vienna's mobile
children's hospice and children's palliative team MOMO was founded in March 2013. The MOMO team works in an interdisciplinary
and multiprofessional manner to maintain and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. MOMO's services are
free of charge for the families and are 75 percent donor-funded.
The donation of 59,745 euros was handed over by Vice
President Stefan Konrad, who emphasized how gratifying it is that the Vienna Medical Doctors’ Ball was able to raise such
a significant sum again this year for such an important institution as the MOMO Children's Hospice. In addition to the sponsors,
he also thanked the numerous ball guests who bring the charity spirit of the Vienna Medical Doctors’ Ball to life and thus
make a valuable contribution.
Bettina Wiltos, Head of the Vienna Medical Doctors’ Ball Committee, was also delighted
with the generous donation. Planning for the Vienna Medical Doctors’ Ball 2024 is already in full swing, and the team is looking
forward to once again offering guests an unforgettable ball evening and once again being able to raise a large sum for a good
cause.
